Garia Utility City vehicles will undergo N1 Type Approval homologation

Current Garia Utility City Vehicles, including the most recent PostNord fleet, are categorized as L7e-CU (Heavy Quadricycle for transportation of goods). These vehicles have four wheels, an unladen mass that is no more than 600 kg, and a net engine power that does not exceed 15 kw. As an N1 type approved vehicle, the Garia Utility City will be classified as a light-goods vehicle with more power, more pay mass and a higher top speed.

In select European countries, subsidies have been implemented for electric vehicles. Garia customers in participating countries can purchase an N1 type approved vehicle and receive a governmental tax reduction and/or allowance. Garia Utility City vehicles will qualify for such incentive programmes.

“This is another huge milestone for Garia Utility,” says Steen Scherff, Vice President of Sales, Garia. “Since the launch in 2015, we have seen an exponential growth in our vehicles, and this development shows we are constantly evolving to be bigger and better.”

The N1 type approval will apply to all current and future Garia Utility City will apply to all current and future Garia Utility City Vehicles. Additional products will also launch  with the vehicles in August and include an extended chassis, a medium cargo box with a volume of a 2.2 m3, a large cargo box with a volume of 4.5 m3, and a semi-trailer with a cargo volume up to 14 m3 configuration. The medium and large cargo boxes will have a pay mass of 1000kg. The semi-trailer will have a pay mass of 1250 kg.

The new homologation will make all of Garia’s street legal utility vehicles commercial and drivable by individuals holding a normal driving license.
